Software

The Lexel system incorporates two types of software to achieve a perfectly controllable light source: i) the hidden intelligence built into the Lexel and MIBs, referred to as the “firmware”; and ii) software that allows Philips’ OEM partners to configure the features of their Lexel-based products to best meet the needs of their customers and applications.

• OEM Partners are able to determine the light output features of their Lexel-based products
• Incorporates Philips’ breakthrough in controlled loop feedback technology
• Determines CCT and color based on a method using exact coordinates from the CIE color gamut for consistency and repeatability of light output between luminaires and over time
• Takes advantage of Philips’ extensive research into color and color theory to take into account human eye response factors

Accessories

In order to ensure the successful integration of the Lexel system into its OEM Partners’ product lines, Philips is developing a suite of accessories that will ease the product design and manufacturing process.

Configuration & Reflash Converter (CRC-200)

This device accepts input from a personal computer (PC) via RS-232 using Philips’ customer configuration software to allow OEM Partners to change to upgrade system firmware or load specific presets, addresses, or serial numbers.
