The Tunnel Light Pipe System provides a night time and interior zone solution for tunnel and underpass illumination. The six-inch (150mm) diameter light guide provides high quality, uniform linear light in lengths up to 40' (12.2m). Lamps are easily accessed and maintained within the luminaire housing, offering the operational advantages of a point source system. The light guide and luminaire are made from rugged construction materials and stainless steel components and are designed specifically for use in the noxious environment found in high volume traffic tunnels. Flexible orientation of the standard 90° emitting aperture allows the product to be designed to meet the specific performance requirements of the tunnel or underpass. Light guides are factory sealed and contain no gases or electrical components and are illuminated using conventional 250/400W metal halide or high pressure sodium HID lamps. The luminaires are quickly attached to the light guide and require only basic wiring. Simple two-piece mounting brackets make overall system installation easy and fast.
