Brent York, TIR’s Chief Technology Officer, presented more details on the Lexel™, TIR’s significant technology breakthrough. Having introduced the Lexel™ to the lighting community at Lightfair 2005, primarily as a new light source, Blue 2005 provided an opportunity to present some of the Lexel’s range of technological breakthroughs to a significant segment of the international LED technology community.

LEDs with Architectural Applications: Wallwashing, Stéphane Jacob, P.Eng, LC, Senior Applications and Systems Engineer
Stéphane represented TIR on a panel of SSL experts addressing 150 lighting designers on the theory and applications for colour-changing wall-washing with LEDs, the critical challenges each faced in delivering successful installations and the intricacies of lighting vertical surfaces with LEDs.

Bridging the Gap: From LEDs to Lighting, Grant Harlow, Director of Strategy and Business Development
Grant sat on a panel of three LED luminaire manufacturers which presented an in-depth exploration into the building block technology of LED luminaries, the latest advances in LED technology, a comparison of white and RGB systems, and the elements that make up an LED lighting system. Thermal management and LED efficiency were explored.
